GETTING THERE

Flights: Plan to arrive at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman. Multiple international carriers fly there, Royal Jordanian is a good non-stop option but might be on the pricier side.

Travel dates:

We recommend that you arrive 1-2 days earlier so you can join us for our friends hangout the day before.

Please note that May 25 has mass Independence Day celebrations - plan your travel accordingly to avoid road closures on that day.

Visas: US and European passport holders need visas (obtained upon arrival at the airport). Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months upon entry.

Packing: Bring a global power adapter, pack summer clothing with a light jacket for cooler evenings, and your best attire for the party. Joy says don't forget your SPF!

ENJOYING YOUR STAY

Cash/Credit: The currency is JOD (Jordanian Dinar). Credit Cards, Google Pay & Apple Pay are widely accepted. You can carry some cash for smaller shops and/or tips.

Transportation:

Rideshare apps (like Uber and Careem) are both affordable and convenient to get around the city and to/from the airport (but only accept cash or Apple Pay).

If you plan to travel outside Amman, we recommend hiring a driver or coordinating with a travel agency.

Accommodation: For places to stay, take a look at the list we have curated for you or find a booking (hotel or Airbnbs) that is more convenient for you. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need another set of eyes on the area or place you are planning to stay in.

Food and drink in Jordan are both affordable and delicious.

Mansaf and Kunafa are a must try and make sure to enjoy the best falafel and shawarma you will ever have!

Amman in May is dry and warm. Wear light clothing but always have an extra layer because the evenings are chilly.

Jordan is welcoming and modern but modest attire is appreciated in public areas.

Wear your sunscreen and drink lots of water.

Jordan is a very safe country. Most people understand English and locals are friendly and helpful.

Traveling and exploring in groups is recommended .

CELEBRATION DETAILS
Pre-Engagement Hangout:
-
Dinner, drinks, and warm-up cheers before the big party - everyone covers their own tab. This is a wonderful chance to meet each other and to make new friends before we celebrate together the next day.
Engagement Party:

Arrive to King Hussein Club at 7:00 PM to take good sunset pictures since the venue is outdoors. Plan to show up on time to attend our short ceremony in the beginning and then dance till midnight.

There will be a seated dinner - please let us know if you request a vegetarian option in advance.

There will be no alcohol at this event.

Dress code is black tie (suits and dresses). You will all look so fancy!

Plan to spend your entire night on the dance floor. Practice moving those hips and saying important phrases like "yalla habibi". We basically want you to lose your breath.
