Things to Do
& Places to be

Level 1: Must-Visit tourist checklist

Everything you can see in 24 hours if you're coming a day early or staying after the engagement.

  • Amman Citadel: including the Temple of Hercules, a Byzantine Church, and the Umayyad Palace

  • Roman Theater: second-century amphitheater in the heart of Amman

  • Wast al Balad (old downtown Amman): walk around, enjoy the views, explore the culture, and have some food and desserts (e.g. Falafel from Hashem Restaurant or Kunafa from Habiba Sweets)

  • Darat al Funun and the Duke's Diwan: historical residences turned museums and art exhibits

  • Rainbow Street: old restaurants and shops in historic Amman (with Souq Jara open on Fridays only)

Level 2: Act Ammani

If you have more time, you can explore these spots and hang out where Ammanis usually do:

  • Enjoy the recommended restaurants, cafes and rooftops for great food and amazing views

  • Visit the Boulevard JO, Abdali Mall, Sweifieh Village, and Taj Mall for last minute shopping if needed! (These are also great spots for good food and coffee hangouts)

Level 3: Explore Jordan

Touristy spots outside of Amman that usually take a full day. Going with a group or a tour guide is recommended.
